Light Bulb, LED Light, and LED COB, What Are They?

 

A light bulb is a device that converts electrical energy into light for indication or lighting. There are a variety of light sources.

A light bulb emits light by heating the tungsten filament to an incandescent state with a certain electric current, called an incandescent light bulb. A halogen light bulb is an incandescent lamp filled with halogen or other inert gas.

While a so-called LED light is with a light-emitting diode (LED) illuminant. The diodes attach to the surface of a circuit baseboard to form a light source, which is called an LED chip. The led chip has a big luminous angle, up to 120-160 degrees, but with a smaller size, longer lifespan, higher efficiency, flicker-free, and gets rid of ultraviolet radiation. It gets only one disadvantage that it emits blue light too. Prolonged exposure to blue light is harmful to the skin and eyes. With years of development in the LED industry, fortunately, we have Rg0(safe rate of blue light) LED chip now, and able to be used on lamps already.

LED COB is one type of led chip. It is a high-efficient integrating light source technology that directly pastes LEDs on a high-reflectivity mirror metal substrate. This technology eliminates the brackets, does not need electroplating, gets rid of reflow soldering, and removes the SMT process, saving one-third of the working processes and production costs.

The features of LED COB:

With stable electrical performance, its design on the circuit, optic, and heat dissipation is scientific and reasonable. The heat sink technology ensures LED chips keep leading thermal lumen maintenance (95%). It also makes way for secondary optical design on lighting fixtures, which improves the lighting quality in color rendering, lighting uniform, removing lighting dots, and also creating healthy and environmental-friendly lighting. Moreover, it is easy to install and use, reducing after costs on maintenance.

COB LED light source now is widely used on light strips, spotlights, downlights, street lights, and other lighting fixtures.
